Hot Chip is a British indie rock band from London. The band formed back in 2000 and have released six studio albums since their inception. The band has been nominated for a Mercury Music Award and a Grammy, unfortunately they did not win the award. Their latest album Why Make Sense? was released in May of 2015, after a 3 year gap since their last album release. Their new album is very experimental and features various styles; from songs which could be likened to LCD Soundsystem, to others which have a Depeche Mode vibe. Hot Chip has come back with an excellent sixth album. The title track "Why Make Sense?" closes the album with a cosmic electronic vibe and sounds which are reminiscent of early Depeche Mode. Huarache Lights has a real LCD Soundsystem vibe. After about 30 seconds, it becomes more clear that the track is by Hot Chip. Given that Hot Chip is under the same label as LCD Soundsystem and band member Al Doyle played with them. Why Make Sense is a welcomed sixth album for Hot Chip; containing the same Hot Chip whom we have grown accustom yet different while they explore new sounds.
